School-Age Care
Ages 6 to 12 years
Chiropractic care is not a substitute for routine pediatric medical care. Developmental concerns, persistent pain, significant injuries, and other medical conditions should be evaluated by your child's pediatrician.
What It Is
School-age chiropractic care focuses on the developing spine, muscles, and joints as children grow and become more physically active. Using age-appropriate techniques, our goal is to improve musculoskeletal comfort, support healthy posture, and encourage proper joint movement as children participate in school, sports, and everyday activities.
When It’s Needed
Between ages 6 and 12, children experience continued growth while spending more time sitting in classrooms, using electronic devices, carrying backpacks, and participating in recreational or competitive sports. These activities can sometimes contribute to muscle tension, joint discomfort, postural concerns, or restricted movement.
Your child may benefit from a chiropractic evaluation if they experience:
- Neck, back, or joint stiffness and discomfort
- Muscle tension or restricted joint mobility
- Posture-related concerns from sitting, studying, or screen time
- Back or shoulder discomfort associated with carrying backpacks
- Muscle or joint discomfort from sports and physical activities
- Recurring discomfort following minor injuries or repetitive movements
What Can It Help With
Chiropractic care may help address joint mobility restrictions, muscle tension, and certain musculoskeletal discomforts. By identifying areas of restricted movement or discomfort, our chiropractors work to improve mobility, address posture-related concerns, and help children participate comfortably in school, sports, and recreational activities.
Our focus is on promoting comfortable movement, maintaining physical activity, and addressing musculoskeletal concerns throughout these important years of growth.
What to Expect
Our chiropractors use age-appropriate techniques tailored to your child’s size, development, activity level, and individual needs. Treatment may include gentle manual adjustments, joint mobilization, soft tissue techniques, or therapeutic exercises when clinically appropriate.
We take time to evaluate your child’s posture, mobility, and musculoskeletal concerns while explaining our findings and recommendations to parents. Care is individualized to each child’s needs, with an emphasis on comfort, function, and appropriate treatment.
